The Farm

Established in 2011, Root Bottom Farm is located in the mountains of Madison County, NC just outside of Asheville. We are dedicated to growing great organic food the old fashioned way. By hand, with love and without chemicals. We grow high-quality, specialty crops including: microgreens, annual and perennial vegetables, fruit and berries. We also produce our award-winning low sugar jam.

We are not open to the public. We are a working farm and we live here full time. Please respect this request.

We currently sell at:

West Asheville Tailgate Market—Tuesday from 3:30 - 6:30 (APRIL-OCTOBER)

North Asheville Tailgate Market at UNCA— Saturday 8:00 -12:00 (last Saturday of the month JULY-OCTOBER)

The Farmers

Root Bottom Farm is owned and loved by Morgan, Sarah and Josephine Decker. Morgan has been farming full-time since 2008 in Vermont, Utah and now North Carolina. When not farming, Sarah is a working artist and author. Her work can be found at sarahjonesdecker.com.

When we aren't deep in the dirt you can find us going on long distance bike tours, hiking the Appalachian Trail, paddling rivers or skiing out West. We swear we get some of our best planning meetings done on long bike rides. Together we have biked over 3,000 miles including from our farm to Key West and the entire Blue Ridge Parkway, Natchez Trace Parkway, Great Allegheny Passage, C&O Canal and the Katy Trail. Love life.
